Lloyd Ronald Dillinger, age 82 of Pratts Fork, died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Born Sept. 14, 1929 in Athens, he was the son of the late Oscar A. & Nita R. Butts Dillinger. He was a sixty five year resident of Pratts Fork.
A graduate of Rome Canaan High School, he retired from Columbia Gas after 33 years of service. He was employed at Nye Chevrolet early in life. He also was an auctioneer and licensed real estate agent.
He was a member of the Alfred United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendant for 56 years. He was a charter member of the Alexander Lions Club and a member of the Athens Co. Antique Tractor Club. He served as a member of Alexander School Board of Education and with the Alexander Athletic Boosters Club.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Doris Virgene Taylor Dillinger; a daughter, Kathy (Joe) Essman of The Plains; two sons- Randy (Sharlene) Dillinger of Albany and Rick (Cindy) Dillinger of The Plains; six grandchildren- Todd (Candie)Dillinger, Marta (Brent) Layton, Richie (Heather) Dillinger, Cassie (Matt) Goodwin, Nicole (Carl) Franz and Kyle Essman; twelve great grandchildren- Melissa Jo Daniel, Ashley Layton, Jenna Layton, Kayla Layton, Wyatt Layton, Brooke Dillinger, Shawn Dillinger, Scott Dillinger, Riley Dillinger, Emmett Goodwin, Spencer Goodwin and Addy Dillinger; sister in law, Joan Dillinger of Athens; two brothers in law- John (Bettie Bow) Taylor of Guysville and Charles (Pat) Taylor of Hide-A-Way Hills; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside his parents he is preceded in death by a twin brother Floyd Donald Dillinger and a nephew, Don Dillinger.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Gene Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Alexander Lions Club will hold services Monday evening 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
