Thomas “Tom” Kyle, age 72 of Stewart died Thursday morning, June 7, 2012 at O.S.U. Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus. Born Aug. 7, 1939 in Athens, he was the son of the late Gerald M. “Pinky” & Mona McKinley Kyle.
A 1957 graduate of Athens High School, he attended Ohio University.
He had been employed at McBee’s Corp. as a typesetter. He owned and operated The Union Grill on W. Union St. and T.K.’s Carryout on E. State St. He had worked at Laughlin Vending Co. for several years as operations manager.
Tom is a member of Elks Lodge BPOE 973, Paramuthia Lodge 25 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine and Athens County Shrine Club.
Tom is survived by his wife of 13 years, Kathy Bennett Kyle; two step children, George Brozak of Carbondale, Ill. and Lisa Brozak of Stewart; the mother of his children, Karen Dains Arnold of Albany and their two daughters, Kelly Kyle of Glendora, California and Kim Kyle of Columbus; two brothers, Gerald (Betty) Kyle of Diamond Springs, California and James Kyle of Columbus; several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Paramuthia Lodge 25 F&AM will hold Masonic rites Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
