John Collier Hagerty, age 65 of Athens died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at his home.
Born Nov. 23, 1946 in Washington Court House, he is the son of the late Jack Maurice Hagerty and Virginia Collier Hagerty.
He was a graduate of Washington Court House High School and Ohio State University where he received a degree in Social Work. He was employed with the Department of Youth Services as a counselor and social worker for over 35 years. He was a 33 year resident of Athens. He enjoyed reading, history, politics and the music of Elvis Presley.
John is survived by his daughter, Kerry Hagerty of Athens; his son, Bryan Hagerty of Westerville; the mother of his children, Gloria Crew Frech of Athens and a brother, Michael James Hagerty of Washington Court House.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements will be announced by Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
