Ada C. Cartwright, age 94 of The Plains, formerly of Glouster, died Wednesday morning, July 18, 2018 at The Laurels of Athens. Born Aug. 3, 1923 in Ames Township, Athens Co., she was the daughter of the late Cecil M. & Ruth Mingus Keirns.

A graduate of Ames Bern High School, she retired after 25 years of service with McBee Corp. She was a longtime member of the Glouster Church of Christ.  She also attended Athens Church of Christ and the Romans Road Church at The Laurels.  A lifelong Athens County resident, she enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Ada is survived by two sons, James (Patsy) Cartwright of Rockbridge and Robert (Sue) Cartwright of Nevada, Ohio; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a sister, Lucy McDonald of The Plains; and two brothers, Albert (Ida) Keirns of Albany and Wayne (Arlene) Keirns of Batavia.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur J. Cartwright in 1987; a son, William Cartwright; a grandson, Nathan Cartwright; three sisters, Altha Snyder , Clara Sayers and Marie Seel Zimmerman.
