Our dear mother Barbara Joan Feery, age 85 of Cedarhurst, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family in Athens, OH, on March 15, 2024.

She worked as a bus matron with children needing assistance for the Lawrence School District for 35 years. It was never a job for Barbara as her love for these special children was boundless. She made every effort to make each day joyful for them, including dressing up for Halloween, her favorite holiday.

Barbara was the epitome of the definition of a "tough, old broad." Fiercely and devotedly loving and protecting her children, taking in and comforting family members when they most needed help, and excitedly celebrating events and everyday moments by bringing together and welcoming friends and family both near and far. A devout Catholic, she served as an Extraordinary Minister for St. Joachim's Church and was an active member in church functions and socials, making dear, lifelong friends who became like family.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sylvia) Feery and Dennis (Christine) Feery, a daughter, Jeanette Feery, a close nephew Bill (Robert) Liebell, and a sister Joan Wahl, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Sean, and Kevin Feery, and Juliana Bluman- Feery.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Feery, in 2018, after 54 years of marriage; three sisters, Rose, Audrey, and Charlotte; and five brothers, John, Jerry, Robert (Bobby), Edward, and George.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
