Betty Jean Stauffer, age 93 of The Plains, died Sunday morning, July 15, 2018 at her home. Born April 20, 1925 in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late Clyde "C.L." Williams & Olive Mason Williams.

A graduate of Athens High School, she was a homemaker in the family home.  Early in life, she was employed at McBee Corporation.

Betty is survived by several nieces and nephews including: Ron & Judy Williams of Athens, Ronnie Williams, Johnny Lee Pence and Nancy Williams; several great nieces and great nephews including: Ronnie (Dawn) Williams and their children, Fisher & Brooke, Larry (Mandy) Williams and their children, Addalyn & Arley James and Jodi Fluharty and her child, Avery Mae; and a special friend, Betty Sloane.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters, Benarda Phillips, Lois Bean and Dorothy Pence; three brothers, Dean, Charles and Tom Williams.  Betty is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Stauffer who passed in 1987.  Don's wait is over, he's joined by his wife and together forever in God's afterlife.
