Beverly Ann Hixson, age 88, of Flatwoods, KY formerly of Albany, died Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2026 at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY.  Born April 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Bennett and Margaret Beatrice "Bea" Davis Bennett.

A graduate of Ames-Bern High School, she had been employed in food service at Ohio University and the Athens City School System.  She had also been employed with United Security of Columbus.  She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed cooking and flower gardening.  She had been residing with her grandson and his wife, Greg & Stephanie, in Flatwoods, KY for five years.

Beverly is survived by her two sons, Robert (Kathy) Hixson of Columbus and Rick (Jackie) Hixson of Albany; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Fred E. Hixson, who died May 24, 2024; a son, Gary Hixson; a great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Hixson; two sisters, Donna Wilson and Shirley Bennett; and two brothers, Sam Bennett and Mont Bennett, who died Friday, April 3rd.

A graveside service will be conducted at Athens Memory Gardens on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Swart officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence, or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
