Bill
Minerd

Stewart
William "Bill" Minerd, 96, of Stewart, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. He will be reunited in heaven with his wife of 45 years, Mary Minerd.
Bill was a WWII veteran and a retired commercial truck driver. He was also a bus driver for Beacon School for several years. In his earlier years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved recalling his adventures in the woods and on the water.
He met his wife in 1977 and they were married in 1978. He became a stepfather to Debbie Wilson of Stewart and Marilyn (Tino) McVey of Stewart. He became a grandpa and was blessed with four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He always had a big smile on his face when they came to visit. Bill was from a large family with 10 siblings, Bessie, Watson, Dorie, Roberta, Crea, Okema, Margaret, Bob, Mae, and Beverly.
He was a devoted son to his late mother, Ethel, of Guysville, and a great brother to his handicapped brother, Roy. Bill also had many nieces and nephews. Bill enjoyed his weekly Saturday & Wednesday group gathering at McDonald's in Athens with his special friends, Curtis and Mary Lou Rector and anyone else that would stop by to say hello to them.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the care Bill received.
