Charles E. Brient, age 90, of Athens died late Sunday evening, December 15, 2024 at his home.  Born October 9, 1934 in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of the late Samuel John Brient and Lula Maude Hirsch Brient.

Dr. Brient received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas and retired as a Professor of Physics at Ohio University.

He is survived by his wife, Harolyn Moore Brient; and his five children, Marcilyn, Matthew, Heather, Erica and Thaden.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gates; and a brother, John Brient.
