Charlotte Marie Addis Hawk, age 95, went to be with her Heavenly Family and God, August 12, 2018. She was born January 29, 1923 in Bruceville, Indiana, daughter of the late Everett and Edith Fyler Addis.
Charlotte graduated from Waterloo High School with the class of 1941.
She married the late Robert Owen Hawk on September 8, 1940. Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition, Charlotte held various jobs including Wharton's Grocery, Logan's Bookstore, and Alden Library, Ohio University, Circulation Department.
Charlotte was a member of Romans Road Church, K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the New Marshfield VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter: Nancy Brown of Albany, Ohio; two sons, Neil (Connie) Hawk, Fayetteville, NC, Brent (Kelly) Hawk, Albany; grandchildren: Tracie (Brian) Jordan, Albany; Pennie (Shorty) Hawk, Shade; Melinda Brown of Hilliard; Wendi (Dan) Knapke of Cary, NC; Chris Hawk of Fayetteville, NC; Michael (Jackie) Hawk of Florence, SC and Corey (Connie) Gillette, Albany. Great grandchildren: Ben, Katie, Brandie, McKenzie, Josie, Paige, Mitch, Robbie, Megan, Alexa, Peyton, Rowan, Mayci, Wesley, Cecil, Bella, and four great great grandchildren: Brady, George Allan, Jevan, and Brittlynn. Also surviving are two sisters: Betty Smith and Joy Downs, Barberton; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Petriga, and brothers Bill Addis, Chuck Addis, and Jim Addis.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2018, 2 pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home Athens, OH with Pastor Barry Bolin officiating. Friends may call Saturday from noon until the time of the service. There will no graveside services. Please share a memory, a note of condolence, or sign the online register book at www. jagersfuneralhome.com. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Laurels Activity Fund, Athens, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Laurels for the wonderful care Charlotte received.
