Donna Faye Misner, age 88, of The Plains, died Sunday evening, Oct. 24, 2021 at her home with her family. Born July 3, 1933 in South Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Ball and Mabel Rogers Ball.
She attended The Plains High School and retired from AEP, River Division. She was a former resident of Cheshire and returned to the Athens area in 1982. She has been formerly employed by Robbins & Myers, was a bus driver for Gallia County Local Schools and served as an EMT with the Gallia County EMS. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She also was a member of AMVETS Auxiliary and enjoyed riding her motorcycle.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Pam (Roy) Thompson of Bidwell; three sons: Ted Misner of The Plains, Jim (Robyn) Misner of Barnesville and Bob (Debbie) Misner of Cheshire; eight grandchildren: Eric (Sharon) Gindlesberger, Amy (John) Hatfield, Ashli (Travis) Halley, Tyler (Danielle) Thompson, Aaron Misner, Katie (Levi Osborne) Misner, Chris Misner and Beth ( Dillan) Mota; several great grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Locke of Lancaster and Fay Ball of Cleveland; a brother Buddy (Joan) Ball of Nelsonville; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Harrison Misner in 1976; a great grandchild, Tristen Osborne; two sisters: Wilma Goodman and Wanda "Punk" Lasure; and a brother, James Ball. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 4 th at 12:00 at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home Athens with Phil Foster officiating. Friends may call at one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Her cremains will be buried in a private service in Ohio Valley Memorial Gardens, Gallipolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Home Care and Hospice, 444 W.
