Doris Jarvis McMullen, age 84, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2019, at her home in The Plains, OH.Born in Cutler on March 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion Jarvis and Mona Ruth Medkiff Jarvis.

She graduated from Rome Canaan High School and attended church in Cutler. She enjoyed home life, gardening, canning, and quilting. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mrs. McMullen was a saleslady for Altman's Department Store in Athens. She and her husband operated a Gulf Service station in Canaanville and she provided child care in her home for many years.

She is survived by three nephews, Ed (Lora) Roof of The Plains, and Larry (Pam) Jarvis and Paul Roof both of South Carolina; two nieces, Georgeann Strausbaugh and Pat Sinclair, both of South Carolina; also surviving are several great nieces and great nephews; and a special friend, Michael Brooks.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harvey McMullen; three sisters Maxine Jarvis, Janice Ashcraft and an infant sister, Betty Geane Jarvis; two brothers, Frank Jarvis and an infant brother, Jerry Edward Jarvis.

Friends may call Tuesday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Canaanville Cemetery with Pastor Charles Fletcher officiating.
