Ellen Jane Carr, 95, of Millfield died September 29, 2026 at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital, Athens. Born March 18, 1931 in Chauncey, she was the daughter of the late Willard Henry Clark and Velma Ora Schowalter Clark.

She was employed for thirteen years at Ohio University and was formerly employed at C&E, Hecks, and Woolworth’s, all of Athens and Lady J’s of The Plains.

Ellen is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Rusty) Allison of Millfield, Tracey (Trevis) VanDyke of Millfield and Cindy (Gary) Higgins of Ozark, Missouri; a son, Nick (Shirley) Carr of Millfield; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ronnie “Joe” Clark of The Plains.

Beside her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Carr; a daughter, Tisha Carr; a grandchild, Lori Lynn; three sisters, Maxine Lowery, Charlotte Carr and Vickie Iddings; and three brothers, John, Lawrence and Willard Frank Clark.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, October 5, 2026, at  11:00 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Rev. Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery, Alexander Township.
