Emily L. McAfee, age 85, of Athens died Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Lindley Inn of The Plains.  Born Aug. 19. 1936 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin Dishong and Dessie Carsey Dishong.

She attended Athens High School and was formerly employed at Lawhead Press and T.S. Trim both of Athens.

Emily is survived by a brother and sister in law, David & Elaine Dishong of England; two aunts, Cynthia (Tom) Bateman of Athens and Darlene Richard of The Plains; several cousins including Walter Steve (Joyce) Hummell of Coshocton.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death her husband, Gordon McAfee, who died Feb. 7, 2022; and a brother, Emory Dishong.
