Floyd Allen Hartley, age 58, of Athens died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center.  Born March 19, 1965 in Athens, he was the son of the late Emmett Hartley and Zinnia Hall Hartley.

He attended Alexander High School.  He was a former resident of Columbus, where he worked as a machinist.  Early in life, he was a former resident of Shade and Mound Street in Athens.  Floyd was a free spirit and enjoyed his independence.

Floyd is survived by seven siblings:  Linda Capehart, Dennis (Geraldine) Hartley, Dianne Harrell, Debbie (Jim) Jeffers, Cindy Miller, Eddie Hartley and Mark Hartley; also surviving are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
