George Alison Kessel, age 94 of Athens died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the home of her son and daughter in law.  Born October 21, 1929 in Mason County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Suddarth Reynold and Berencie Halfhill Reynold.

She had been employed as a secretary at Beacon School and the Athens County Juvenile Court.  She was an animal lover and a sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Bengals.

George Alison is survived by her son and daughter in law, Brett and Connie Kessel of Athens; three grandchildren, Travis (Tiffany) Barry, Shawn (Tiffany) Wallace and Cassandra (Kyle Scholl) Wallace; and several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kessel in 1972; a grandson, Dustin Jackson; and a brother, Jim Reynold.
