Jack Edward Howard passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, at the Embassy of Logan, Ohio, at the age of 90. He was born on March 7,1934, in Millfield, (Athens County) Ohio, to the late Herbert and Jennie Howard.

Jack's life was deeply intertwined with his passion for automobiles, a testament to his independence and strong-willed nature. As a mechanic, he left an indelible mark with his unique sense of humor, drawing people to him. We will remember Jack as a witty and friendly individual, always ready to make a new acquaintance. In his later years, he found joy in visiting the New To You Thrift Shoppe in Athens, Ohio. While we mourn his loss, we will honor his memory by remembering him as he lived-on the edge.

Jack leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories that his family will carry forward. He is survived by his two sons, Joe (Lynn} Howard of Nelsonville and Larry (Becky) Howard of Athens; two daughters, Sandy (Jim) Brown of Millfield and Carolyn (Charles} McMillin of Vinton; two sisters, Judy Byers of Heath, and Betty Mathias of Logan; and a very special niece Paulette Chalfant of The Plains who held a special place in his heart. His memory will also be treasured by his extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom were deeply touched by his presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Jennie Howard; a brother, Franklin Leroy Howard; a sister, Jennie May Howard (Evener}; a brother, Louis Henry Howard (Betty); a sister, Wanda Sue Smith; and a son, Jackie Ray Howard, in 1977.
