James Robert Christian, Jr., age 77, of Athens died Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.  Born December 31, 1947 in Athens, he was the son of the late James Robert Christian, Sr. and Donna Starkey Christian.

James is survived by daughters, Sandra Frazier of Newport and Crystal Christian of Columbus; several grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Ruch of Bloomdale and Jackie (George) DeVault of Columbus; a brother, Gary (Dona) Christian of Nelsonville; and many cousins and family members locally and in Wisconsin.

James never met a stranger; he had many close friends at the apartments where he lived for 13 years; also his nurse, Cathy, close friend, Melody and his buddy, Laura, plus many more that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fredia Christian, who died in 2011; a sister, Joyce White; and two brothers, Roger Allen Christian and Timothy Paul Christian.  He will be sadly missed.  RIP our brother, until we see you again.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, June 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Gary Alton officiating.  Burial will be in The Plains Cemetery, Johnson Road., The Plains.  Friends may call Monday 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register atwww.jagersfuneralhome.com.
