Jayne E. Harness, age 52 of Athens died Sunday evening, Oct. 10, 2010 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.

Born June 9, 1958 in Columbus, she is the daughter of Rebecca Lind Schirtzinger of Guysville and the late James E. Schirtzinger, Sr.

A 1977 graduate of Westland H.S. and a graduate of Hocking College, she was a home health care aide. She moved to Athens in 1992 and attended Vanderhoof Baptist Church and Living Water Church.

In addition to her mother, Jayne is survived by a twin daughter and son, Martha Harness and David (Amber) Harness; a son, Jason (Christy) Harness all of Athens; ten grandchildren- Janessa, David, Savanna, Jason Jr., Andrew, Tiana, Justin, Dinisha, Bradon and Champaign; a sister, Rebecca (Glenn) Osborne of Guysville; three nephews- Woody, Joey and Zachary; and a twin brother, Jamie Schirtzinger of The Plains.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Craig Holler officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
