Jean Elliott, age 88 of Athens, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2018 at Kimes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 20, 1930 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Cross Herbert Elliott and her late step father, Ralph Elliott.

A graduate of Nelsonville High School, she received her bachelor's degree in Education and Secretarial Studies from Ohio University.  She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta and was a founding member of Athens Friends and Neighbors. She was a member of Christ Community Wesleyan Church and had been a member of the Wesleyan Church for over 80 years.

Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph T. Elliott; a son David Elliott of Athens; two grandsons, Jacob & Cody Elliott; a sister & brother in law, Jane & Carl Mucha of Union, KY.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville with Pastor Denver Dodrill officiating.  No calling hours will be observed.  Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence, or sign the online register book at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
