He was a graduate of Athens High School, and had been a lifelong surveyor, beginning survey work at the age of seventeen.  He was a lifelong area resident.  He never met a stranger, had a huge heart and had many, many good friends.  He enjoyed go-cart racing for over 20 years.  He also enjoyed restoring old cars and especially driving old cars.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra K. Nichols Schloss; three sons, Mike (Sheila) Schloss of Guysville, Mark (Trish) Schloss of Guysville and Matt (Angel) Schloss of Guysville; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Whipkey and he husband Robert Whipkey Tate of Carlisle, Pa., Christy (Tim) Moore of Shade, and Susan Venable of Frederickburg, Va.; two brothers, Joe (Carole) Schloss of Athens and Jim (Joan) Schloss of Chantilly, Va.; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his special friend and pet cat, Buster.

At Jeff's request, there will be no funeral or calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
