Joanne Roebuck, age 90, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday evening, March 1, 2022 at Laurels of Athens.  Born Feb. 22, 1932 in Springfield, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late George Ackers and Dora Newman Ackers.

She graduated from Orting, Washington High School and had been a resident of California for several years.  She moved to Ohio in 1980 and Nelsonville in 2000.  She was employed as an aid in nursing homes and home health care aid.  She was a member of Grace Christian Center.  Joanne was a people person, and enjoyed her work with the elderly retiring when she was in her seventies.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards games and bingo, and cross stitching.  She was passionate about art and an animal lover, especially dogs and cats.

Joanne is survived by two daughters, Brenda Snyder of Madera, CA and Linda Reeves (Leon) Forté of Nelsonville; a son, Roland (Jodi) Reeves of Washington; grandchildren, Mysti (James) Lopez, Candace Giralde, Aaron Forté, Kariss Forté, Jordan (Lucille) Reeves, Cara Reeves, and Shea Reeves; several great grandchildren; a sister, Doreen Long of Boise, ID; a sister in law Juanita Bridges of Republic, MO; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Roebuck, who died in 2000; and a twin brother, Jack Bridges, that were separated by adoption and re-connected with each other in their seventies.  Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 8 ^th at 6:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Leon Forté officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday 5:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1 ^st St., Suite 200, Miami, FL 33131.  Please share a memory, a note of condolences or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
