Karen Marie Murphy, age 57, of Athens died Monday morning, July 10, 2023 at her home.  Born Aug. 2, 1965 in Nelsonville, she was the daughter of the late Nancy Helen Johnson Murphy and Calvin Wesley Murphy of Athens.

She attended Beacon School in Athens, ATCO for several years and in 2011 she started to attend Echoing Connections.  She was a former resident of Echoing Meadows of Athens.  She enjoyed singing, especially "Delta Dawn".  She also enjoyed amusement park rides and county fair rides; her favorite being roller coasters.

She is survived by relatives and her friends at Echoing Meadows, Echoing Hills and her new home.  Also surviving are her health care providers, caregivers and staff.

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. James Lambert.
