Karen Sue Thompson, age 73, of Athens, died Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home.  Born June 22, 1949 in Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Granville Thompson and Gyneth Craft Thompson.

A graduate of Athens High School, she attended Ohio University.  She retired after 30 years of service from Alden Library on the Ohio University campus.  She was an avid sports fan of Ohio University athletics and the Cleveland Indians.

Karen is survived by a brother, Jerry Thompson of Columbus; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Webb; three sisters, Nancy Drake, Lorna Thompson and Aves Yates; and a special friend, Bob West.  At her request, no funeral service will be observed.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Arrangements are with Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
