Karla A. Mitchell, of Athens, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the age of 70.  She was born January 14, 1954 to William and Barbara Lent Geiger.

Karla retired from the telephone company.  She would like to give a special thanks to her telephone family for all of their love and support.

She is survived by her best friend of 42 years, Dennis Chapman; her loving daughter, Kendra Mitchell and her husband Ariel Zeno of Colorado; and her granddaughter Olivia, who was her pride and joy.  She is also survived by three brothers, Eric Geiger of New York, Russ Geiger of Texas and Kurt Geiger of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and a special great niece, Hope.

Karla is preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Geiger; and a brother, Steve Geiger

Her wishes were to be cremated with no calling hours or services.  Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Home Care and Hospice, 444 W.
