Karyl Lee Jones, age 78, of Nelsonville, formerly of Athens, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2023 in New Lexington.  Born March 16, 1944 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Hill Tuckerman and Kathryn Juhling Tuckerman.

A 1966 graduate of Athens High School, she was employed for 30 years and retired from Ohio University where she was an administrative assistant in Psychology Department.  She was a lifelong area resident.  In addition to her family, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and cross stitching.

Karyl is survived by her son and daughter in law, Robert W. & Carrie Jones II of Nelsonville; a granddaughter and her husband, Katie & Brandon Gilden of Shade; a granddaughter, Kimberly Jones of Nelsonville; and two great grandchildren, Bradley & Samuel Gilden.
