Obituary

Conrad "Keith" Gabriel, age 86, of Athens died Thursday evening, December 12, 2024 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.  Born March 9, 1938 in Athens, he was the son of the late Edman Gabriel and Erma Pierce Gabriel.

He attended Waterloo High School, and retired from Abex, Corp and Athens Mold & Machine where he was a machinist and supervisor.  He enjoyed yard work, gardening, and using his machinist skills to manufacture automotive and agricultural machine parts for area farmers.

Keith is survived by two sons, Blaine Gabriel and Jeffrey (Sheri) Gabriel, Sr., both of Athens; four grandchildren, Eric (Misty) Gabriel of Winston Salem, NC, Jessica (Robert) Hope of Albany, Jeffrey (Nikki) Gabriel, Jr. of Athens and Trent (Emily) Gabriel of Athens; five great grandchildren, Finley, Tinzley & Baizley Gabriel and Renlee & Anden Hope.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 59½ years, Mary Jo Rice Gabriel, who died in 2018; a daughter in law, Tammy Gabriel, who died in 2023; an infant brother, Walter Gabriel; and two brothers James Gabriel and Dean Gabriel.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Phil Foster officiating.  Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
