Obituary

Mildred “Loretta” Sharpe, 75, of Athens died suddenly, Tuesday August 11, 2026 at her home. Born February 21, 1951 in Nelsonville, she was the daughter of the late Harold Six and Mildred “Juanita” Bailey Six.

A 1969 graduate of Nelsonville High School, she was formerly employed at the Athens Mental Health Center and was the family caregiver. She was a baker of cookies, cakes, and pies and operated Millie’s Munchies on Columbus Road for several years. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed her trips to the Casino.

Loretta is survived by a daughter, Teresa (Troy) Lehmann of Athens; four grandchildren, Amanda Runyon (Rex) Belcher, Sabrina Runyon, Parker Lehmann and Karlee Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Tallulah Runyon and Rowen Lehmann; three sisters, Judy (Randall) Roush of New Lexington, Brenda Bownes of Athens, and Debbie Six of Albany; three brothers, Junior Bailey of The Plains, David Bailey, and Michael (Martha) Six of Nelsonville; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Beside her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Alvin “Al” “Deadeye” Sharpe I; a son, Theodore Alvin Sharpe II; and three brothers, Larry Bailey, Bob Six and Jody Six.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be in Connett Cemetery, York Twp.
