Miller
Jun 14, 1920 — Mar 18, 2024
Athens
Lucille Miller, the eldest daughter of Jesse and Zella Copen was born on June 14th, 1920 in Blakely, W.V. Lucille helped with the care of her five brothers and two sisters when the health of her mother was beginning to decline. Lucille passed away, Monday, March 18, 2024.
She met her husband Alonzo 'Lonnie' Miller and moved to a farm on Pleasant Hill Rd. In Athens County where they had a large dairy farm. They raised their family of four on that farm.
They were very involved in the neighboring church and the youth of the church. Providing lots of hayrides, wiener roasts, pizza parties and the like.
When the doctor told Lonnie his health would not allow him to continue farming, they sold it and went to West Virginia and purchased a restaurant. A short time later they moved to Florida and decided they wanted to stay.
Lonnie and Lucille bought a grocery store in Tampa, Florida. After retirement, not able to set still, they began to work managing apartment buildings in Tampa Florida.
