Mary Lou Hartley, age 86, of Circleville, formerly of Trimble and Athens, died Sunday, March 16, 2025 at The Laurels of Gahanna.  Born December 5, 1938 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late William Schall and Etta Schall.

A graduate of Rome-Canaan High School, she was employed as a cook at Ohio University.  She had been a resident of Trimble for 30 years, moving to Circleville in 2010.  She attended the South Canaan Baptist Church and had been a member of the Golden Wings CB Club.  She was active with the Federal Hocking High School Band Boosters and enjoyed the Statler Brothers music.

Mary is survived by three sons, Ed (Kelly) Scott of Nelsonville, Craig (Stacy) Scott of Athens and Ken (Becky) Scott of South Carolina; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; great nephews and great niece that were raised in the family home, Justin Hartley, Steven Hartley and Keesha Hartley; and a brother Roger Schall of Shade.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Hartley; a former husband and father of her children, Dorrell "Sleepy" Scott; two sisters, Karen Ackley and Judy Schall; and three brothers, Willie, Walter and Chuck Schall.
