Mary Lou Mace, age 92, formerly of New Marshfield, died late Friday evening, Oct. 19, 2018 at Four Winds Nursing Center, Jackson. Born Apr. 13, 1926 in New Marshfield, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Lou Collins Hawk.

A 1944 graduate of Waterloo High School, she retired from the Athens Mental Health Center.  She had been formerly employed at McBee Corp., Brooks Shoe Co., and Belks.

Mary Lou is survived by a daughter & son in law, Sharlene & Gary Ryder of Nelsonville; a son, Kenneth Mace of Albany; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; eleven great, great grandchildren; and a brother & sister in law, Dale & Joan Hawk of Athens.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Mace; a daughter, Becky Gross; a son, Bruce Mace; two grandsons, Wayne & Brad McLain; a brother & sister in law, Bob & Charlotte Hawk.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Barry Bolin officiating.  Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register book at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
