Mitzi Bricker-Manda, 67, of Millfield, passed away suddenly, Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Ohio Health O'Bleness Hospital, Athens.  Born July 15, 1955 in Athens, she is the daughter of Ruth Margaret Canter Bricker of Nelsonville and the late Jack Bricker.

A 1974 graduate of Athens High School, she received her teaching certificate from Ohio University.  She was a marketing and fashion merchandising teaching at Tri-County Joint Vocational School since 1996.  She enjoyed her teaching and her students.  She was awarded the Ohio Association of Teachers Family and Consumer Sciences Award.  She was the manager of the Shoe Café on Union and Congress Streets for 18 years.  While at the Shoe Café, she was involved and help revitalize the Athens Uptown Merchants Association and brought back the Santa Claus House at the Courthouse.  She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, and flower gardening.

Mitzi is survived by her husband of 40 years, Paul B. Manda; her mother, Ruth Bricker of Nelsonville; her sister, Nannette Bricker of Nelsonville; her brother, Richard A. (Jeananne) Bricker of Rockland, CA; brothers in law and sisters in law, Kathy (Mick) Six of Reynoldsburg, Marilyn (Joe) Kessey of Belpre, John (Terri) Manda of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Joe Manda of The Plains; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Besides her father she is preceded in death by a foster brother, Rodney Canter.  Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, May 22nd from 5-8 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  A private family graveside service will be held at Mt.
