Samuel Allen Graber, age 67, of Athens died Saturday morning, June 17, 2023 at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital, Athens.  Born Feb. 13, 1956 in Logan, WV, he was the son of the late Harvey Graber and Ruby Wiles Graber.

A 1975 graduate of Alexander High School, he was employed in construction.  He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union, worked for the Dept. of Defense at Piketon Nuclear Plant, remodeled homes, and was a parts manager at McKee's Auto Parts.  He enjoyed country music and refinishing furniture.

Sam is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wendy Wade Graber; five children, Samantha (Van) Matthews of Columbia, SC, Erin (Greg) Nuber of Nelsonville, Brianne Shellman of Amesville, Stephen Graber of Hanover, PA and Travis (Stephanie) Shellman of Amesville; twelve grandchildren, Dylan, Shania, DeQuira, Peige, Rissa, Maddy, Wendy, Destiny, Hailey, Steven, Brenton, and Angelynn; a great granddaughter, Marcella; a sister, Bonnie DuBoe of Commercial Point; five brothers, Harvey (Barb) Graber of Columbus, Steve (Jean) Graber of Baltimore, Gary Graber of Columbus, Larry Graber of Athens, and Jimmy Graber of Athens; he is also survived by a special pet companion, Ralphie.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Slone, Betty Osborne and Shelby Sheridan; two brothers, Harry Graber and Joe Graber.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Rev. Rick Seiter officiating.
