Sharon
Stufflebean
d. Jun 27, 2022
Nelsonville
Sharon Stufflebean, of Athens, Ohio went home to be with her Lord June 27, 2022, at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon just lost her husband a month ago and they are now reunited. Everyone who knew them, knew they could not be separated long.
Sharon is survived by her children Brian (Laura) Stufflebean, Amy (Bob) Ventresca, Chris (Erika) Stufflebean, Holly (Joe) Robinson, Rosa Bergeson, Anna Emrick, Lauryn Stufflebean, and Victoria (Chris) Stufflebean- Stark, as well as her grandchildren, Elysha (Faith) Stufflebean, Aaron Stufflebean, Matthew Stufflebean, Rachel Stufflebean, Joseph (Haley) Stufflebean, Hannah Stufflebean, Sydney Cole, Tyler Fronek, Jacob Stufflebean, Mark Stufflebean, David Stufflebean, Lydia Stufflebean, Becca Robinson, Dominick Emrick and Megan Emrick.
Although she was an only child, she is also survived by several special people who were more like siblings. Bruce (Lisa) Keeney, Sue (Alan) Hartter, Steve (Evelyn) Frisbey, and Sheryl (Gary) McMillion.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Jerry Stufflebean and her parents Lowell and June Cole.
Sharon graduated from Ohio University in 1963 with a B.A. in Education and taught for many years all over the United States as she and Jerry relocated due to promotions in Jerry's job. She took her teaching knowledge and shared it every opportunity she got. Teaching Bible studies, her kids, and anyone she felt she could help along the way. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority at OU and was involved in many extra curricular activities.
Most knew Sharon for her love for her family; especially her children. Sharon was a mother of 8 children. She had 6 daughters and 2 sons that she loved more than anything, as well as her 15 grandchildren. Those who knew her also knew of her love to save those around her as a disciple of Christ. Of her love to see the world, to travel, to learn, and to be the matriarch that we all knew and loved.
Sharon most recently enjoyed hosting a Bible study at her home on Monday evenings. She attended Christ Community Wesleyan Church and was a part of the hostess committee there before she became ill. Sharon was a righteous woman and a prayer warrior for all those who needed it. She was strong in her faith but strongest in herself. She fought her illness with great courage and she did not lose! Going to be with The Lord and Jerry was a blessing to her after her long earned rest.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 6 th at 5:00 p.m. at Christ Community Wesleyan Church, Albany with her son, Pastor Chris Stufflebean and Pastor Steve Warner officiating.
