Shirley Ann Harrington, age 90, of Athens, formerly of Cincinnati, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.  Born August 29, 1929 in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Baker and Elba Farmer Baker.

She was a graduate of Norwood High School.  She had been employed as a Unit Clerk at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, and as editor and columnist at the newspaper, Eastern Hamilton County Messenger.

Shirley is survived by four sons, Dennis (Teresa Schnittke) Harrington of Grandville, Dr. Dale (Carla) Pratt Harrington of Athens, David (Barbara) Harrington of Bokalia, FL and Dan (Marleen) Harrington of The Plains; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Simms and Donna Diane Dowler.  Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.  Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA Cincinnati, Development Department, 11900 Conrey Rd., Cincinnati, OH  45249.  Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register book at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
